Aeon Flux

February 23rd, 2006

Ok, i know this is a comic book conversion, and I know its not like the best comic either, but it was a free trip with my uncle(who’s up visiting from Leeds) and i wanted to get it out my system.

Well, the special effects are really nice actually, this “new age of man” looks the part, but sadly it never quite feels it. The film tries to copy a few other films like that, mainly being “The Matrix” and “Equilibrium”. It fails though. Where The Matrix had kick ass special effects which were painstakingly made, this has the shiny “look, its the future” special effects, which are really well done, but that isnt what makes a film. Neither does it have the atmosphere of Equilibrium. It tries to take the whole Big Brother thing a bit far.

The fight scenes were good though, well choreographed and filmed. Charlize Theron was quite good, but i think she may have been picked because she is slim and fits in reveling costumes.

Its worth seeing….on DVD. Well, thats maybe slightly harsh, it is more a lads film(sorry ladies).

Cheezy gives it a (drumroll)…..a 6.5 outta 10

Cheezy :P
PS. Am not chuffed with Cineworld, when seeing the above film, through some of it, a very loud buzzing noise came through the speakers, for no apparent reason, was most unchuffed, and their head office shall be receiving a complaint email.

New phone

February 16th, 2006

Well, Cheezy had to buy himself a new phone the other day, as i sadly damaged the other one. I was carrying sound equipment, and cracked the screen of my phone in my pocket due to the way i was carrying it. But i was really looking for an excuse to buy a new phone anyway, as my old one was uber crap!

So on Monday, with the help of local hero Dinoman, I bought the lovely phone that is the Sony Ericsson K7ooi, it is actually amazing, it’s got everything I want, and cost me £100(ouch!) I would say it was worth it though, it has Bluetooth, a digital and video camera(not amazing, but fun to have), radio, all the usual gadgets like alarms and stuff, its user friendly and I can connect it to my PC, so can download stuff to that, and then put it on the phone.

Its SO easy to use, and even has a user “wizard” to help you set your phone up, which is nice. Its great to have a phone that actually does stuff, and is useful at the same time.

I would recommend this phone to anyone, as its great all round.
