For Christmas my good ol’ mum bought me a Sony PSP. It is absolutely brilliant! For those who don’t know, this is Sony’s answer to the game boy, but better. Not only does it play games, but it’s an MP3 and 4 player. This seems to be Sony’s new thing, one piece of equipment, loads of different uses. It’s a nice idea, as it means that I don’t have to buy a new MP3 player(the Zen got broken) and I certainly do not need to buy an MP4 player(not that I would have).
Games Quality/ Screen Quality
The quality of graphics is surprisingly good, with so near PS2 graphics that sometimes you can’t distinguish. The movement on screen is really fluid. The screen is a decent size, taking up most of the face on the front. It’s just a nice size, better than the game boy screen size. it’s amazing how much detail can fit on it, it just amazes me
Control
In true Sony style the good old 4 button in a diamond shape have made the cut. What did surprise me was that they only put one analogue stick on it, when theres clearly space on it for a second. It is strange not having it there, but I can understand why its not, as theres only 2 “shoulder” buttons, when there 4 on the normal controller. The control within games is sharp, they’ve out a D-PAD on it as well, so for some games it’s easier to use that, eg, Tekken.
Overall
This is a brilliant piece of gaming kit, with wi-fi built in, multi player is a doddle, weight isn’t an issue as its actually light for what it does, and a decent selection of games with good graphics just wanting to be played on it, then Sony is defo onto a winner here. Still not as cheap as it should be in my opinion, but thats life. If you don’t want to buy it, play a friends, it’s worth it.
