Firefox 3.0

June 18th, 2008

This has just been released tonight, and already i’m posting about it(makes up for the amount of time I didn’t post for).

Now, I like Firefox, i’ve used it since MrBen told me about and and said I should, I listened and I have been very pleased with it.  3.0 is rather strange though, it has a lot of changes. We as a species, don’t like change very much, sure, litle changes like getting new clothes, or new colour schemes are acceptable, but changing the way something works? No, we dont like that.

Which is what i’m getting to, Firefox 3.0 is trying to change how browsers work, which is quite a challenge.  The hardest thing to get used to is the address bar. I’m not sure i like it, instead of you typing in the start of an adressand it coming up with the address you want, it searches the addresses of all the wites you’ve been on and puts that up as an option as well, which is rather confusing at first. I had to raid through all of them(instead of just type the full adres because i’m lazy). I decided that to make life easier for me, I should clear my history…which i did, and it does make it a bit easier but not much.

The one thing Do like is that they have a “most visited” drop down menu, where the sites you go on most come up, which should mean I don’t even have to type them in the address bar, which is great for a lazy git like myself.

I’m going to have to test drive it a bit more, but at this point, the jury is still out!

Back…again

June 12th, 2008

Ok, since Ruth has resurrected her blog, I thought I would follow suit(again). This is about my 7th resurrection I believe, buti’m determined to stay this time(honest)

Being currently unemployed, I have a lot of time on my hands, and I want to start a few projects/find stuff to do.

1. Graphic Design

Some of you know i have an HND in multimedia, and during that time I done a lot of graphic design, which I haven’t used as much as i should have, so now i’m gonna try and make stuff, what that stuff is i don’t know yet, but once I do, i’ll either let you know or post it up here.

2. Learn some coding

I was at a christian concert at the weekend called Frenzy, and there was a band called “The David Crowder Band” who are a group of guys from Texas, they’re very cool. They do this cool thing where as part of their worship, the lead singer/guitarist takes a Guitar Hero guitar(yes, a toy) which is programmed  to play actual cords. This is just an awesome idea, and although I don’t own guitar Hero, I want to code so that I could do the same thing they have done.

There is a problem however……I don’t know any code…atall! So if anyone could give me pointers on what stuff to learn or even want to help me on this project, then please do, I would appreciate any help.

3. Become a cameraman

Right, this is a rather random one to add in, but let me explain. I am a youth worker, albeit an unemployed unqualified one. I love it, it’s loadsa fun and isn’t that hard to do, but, if it’s what I love to do, do i want to possibly ruin it by making it my “job”?

I have some up with this idea I want to be a cameraman, as i’ve done a lot of home made video stuff and I like doing the camera work, I can see how it looks in my head before i film and so i’m thinking of seeing how to be a cameraman.  Now, i’m not gonna back to uni or anything, as we all know how that ended last time, no, what i’m thinking of doing is filming some stuff and editing it a bit and sending it off to people like the BBC etc and seeing if I can get in that way. hey, stranger things have happened. So if you want anything filmed, gimme a shout.

Well, that’s my projects just now, we’ll see how many of them come to fruition.
