Transformers: The live action movie!

August 24th, 2006

Ok, as many of you may know, i LOVE transformers, to me,it was the pinnacle of childrens tv,and probably still is,as childrens tv is not the same as it was, but thats beside the point, as i speak, the live action movie is in creation, and, well, im excited, REALLY excited, this is what ive been waiting on for years, to see Optimus Prime back on top form, and kick some ass, it really is a dream come true.

There has been a transformers movie before, back in the 80’s, and it was a cartoon, and was just a continuation of the storylines from the series(this was made inbetween series 2 and 3) and it also rocked! There was 80’s rock(which i believe Al has hidden somewhere),some new bots and LOTS of action,if you havent seen it, you really havent lived. If the new film can get anywhere near as good as this, then thats good for the Transformers Universe.

The transformers who will appear in the movie have just been released and go like this:

AUTOBOTS
Optimus Prime
Bumblebee
Jazz
Ratchet
Ironhide

DECEPTICONS
Megatron
Starscream
Brawl
Bonecrusher
Barricade
Skorpinok
Frenzy
Blackout

Some of the vehicle modes have been changed to match in to 2006/7, but i think thats acceptible, althouugh sad at the same time.

If Michael bay(the director) messes this up, i will actually shoot him, i will not be a happy chappy. What i really hope is that its a success, the youth of today learn to appreciate transformers, and that theres many sequels, matching the cartoon storylines a wee bit, and adding more bots(like soundwave, hot rod and ultra magnus)
Good luck Michael, you have alot on your shoulders

Soundtrack to your life

April 16th, 2006

Ok, a while back on Guy’s site, you had the movie of your life, now what you need to do is put a soundtrack to it.

There are gonna be 6 parts of you life your gonna hve to cover, so 6 different songs, the parts will be:

1. You being born, montage of you growing up(start of movie, opening titles)
2. You fall in love with a girl or guy(typical movie storyline)
3. The obligatory fight scene(you know the drill)
4. You “win” the girl/guy you love and live happily ever after
5. You die, montage of your life after you lived happily ever after(closing credits)

I guess that i need to start, so here goes:

1: Bitter sweet symphony by The Verve
2: Everything I do(I do for you) by Bryan Adams*
3: Breathe by The Prodigy
4: Beautiful Day by U2
5: Who wants to live forever by Queen

*Hey, they don’t call me Cheezy for nothing

Hope that all makes sense. Look forward to seeing the answers.

Long time

April 7th, 2006

Thankfully, Cheezy has been off this week, and what has he done with it?…..Nothing, absolutely nothing. Yeah, i’ve been out and about at night, but during the day i’ve sat and watched tv, played the ps2 and just pottered away. It is actually quite nice, because I have been quite busy of late.

Last week, I was helping looking after some foreign students from France and Finland. It was a good laugh actually, done loads of great stuff. Took them to Stirling(just in time for everything closing), the IMAX cinema, Edinburgh Castle and Dungeons(which is fantastic and would recommend everyone should go to it, so funny and very well acted). Sadly, there was some work to be done, including work on the website, and on the friday, as spokesperson for the group, I had to do a presentation. I LOVE doing presentations, don’t know why, I just do, and cos of that, im pretty good at them. I turned a 3-5 minute presentation into nearly a 15 minute one, and done myself proud.

They did have to go home though sadly, and it was hard to say goodbye as we’d all got quite close. I do have an open invitation to go to France though, score!

Also saw Firewall the other day, and it’s good. You can’t really beat Harrison Ford. He plays a server security chief in a bank, and his family is held hostage until he gets them money. On comes some cliched attempts to save them and stuff, but the action is good and was quite impressed.

Big Post…maybe

March 13th, 2006

Ok,its been a while,ive been told to post,so i will

First off, my fave link that i’ve found in a long time- I-God

Its your chance to have a direct line talking to God. Think minimalistic MSN,but to God. You want to chat to him? Go Here

Ok, maybe it isnt actually God, but an AI(Artifitual Intelligence) that pretends to be God and answers your questions and comments, but you know, maybe it will solve lifes problems and tell you how to live your life…or maybe it wont, dont ask me,i just work here.

Saw “The Weatherman” on Friday, and its crap, lol. Sorry, but I got so bored through this “comedy”. The funniest parts were shown in the trailer, and thats always disappointing. I am a fan of Nicholas Cage, and he has made ome fantastic movies in his day(Face Off, The Rock,Gone in 60 Seconds) but this movie cant even be saved by Michael Cane, who plays nic cages dad. The story is that nick cage is a tv weatherman, and is applying for a job in new york to be a mega paid weatherman, he has an ex wife and 2 kids, and his father is dying, his sons councellor is a paedophile, and his daughters nickname is camel toe(im not explaining that one to you innocent readers) It might be a more girly movie, as something called “feelings” are needed i believe:P

Snow….isnt it great?! Ive always loved snow, and i hope i always will love it. Theres just so much you can do with it. Build snowmen, throw snowballs, bury people in it,build a ramp to sledge down, its so good. Me,alan, james, gillian, katie, dave, steve, aline and helen built an 8 foot snowman yesterday, it was quite impressive, was quite heavy, but looked great. Although, the acheivment of the day was the 5 foot ramp we built to make the sledging better, as there wasnt really a steep enough hill. There wearnt any serious injuries, but lots of extrmely funny moments, such as gillian being dropped over a fence, through some leaves,so that the snow from the leaves landed on her as she hit the ground, and she then couldnt figure out how to get out,but i helped, being the kind person that i am,haha. Alan and Ben do deserve medals or something for doing it.

Ok,time for a wee rant.

Space, the final frontier, in alot of the world governments, it seems a good idea to send people and probes and sattelites into space in order to “make things better for the world”, thats complete rubbish, and they know it. What would be better for the world, would be to give even 1/4 of what they spend on a space craft to the African nations, thus solving world hunger i one swift move. Think, Ameica spends a whole load of cash on space exploration, then turn round and say “yh,wordl hunger sucks, if only there was a way of solving it…….oh look, have you seen our new 65 million dollar space program?” It sucks! It really does. Now, in all honesty, i dont give money to charity at the moment, i dont even tithe yet(but im working on it). Now, when I grow up(if it ever happens) and i get a proper full time, well paid job, yh,ill give some cash to the needy, we’re all equal, why should it be that people in “lesser” countries be less fortunate than i am? They shouldnt!

Just had to get it out my system.

Had a university interview 2 weeks ago…except i was ill and couldnt go,so phoned and cancelled, and was SO worried i wouldnt get another one, but theyve sent me one for the 29th March, so im actually so excited about it, i love interviews, dont know why,but i just do. I dont get nervous about them and just get o and do what needs done. This one is fro strathclyde which is my first choice, had one for edinburgh a month ago, and still aint heard, but dunno if i want to go there anyway. Lets face it, edinburgh = sucky, crappy and…erm…other not nice words. well,in my opinion anyway.

Well, i think thats enough for today.

Aeon Flux

February 23rd, 2006

Ok, i know this is a comic book conversion, and I know its not like the best comic either, but it was a free trip with my uncle(who’s up visiting from Leeds) and i wanted to get it out my system.

Well, the special effects are really nice actually, this “new age of man” looks the part, but sadly it never quite feels it. The film tries to copy a few other films like that, mainly being “The Matrix” and “Equilibrium”. It fails though. Where The Matrix had kick ass special effects which were painstakingly made, this has the shiny “look, its the future” special effects, which are really well done, but that isnt what makes a film. Neither does it have the atmosphere of Equilibrium. It tries to take the whole Big Brother thing a bit far.

The fight scenes were good though, well choreographed and filmed. Charlize Theron was quite good, but i think she may have been picked because she is slim and fits in reveling costumes.

Its worth seeing….on DVD. Well, thats maybe slightly harsh, it is more a lads film(sorry ladies).

Cheezy gives it a (drumroll)…..a 6.5 outta 10

Cheezy :P
PS. Am not chuffed with Cineworld, when seeing the above film, through some of it, a very loud buzzing noise came through the speakers, for no apparent reason, was most unchuffed, and their head office shall be receiving a complaint email.

Batman Begins

June 17th, 2005

Today, Diana and myself decided to go to the cinema(she done alot of convincing, cos i was’t going to at first)but i’ve been looking forward to this film since I heard about it. I was a bit unsure though, after the last batman film(won’t even mention it by name), but actually, i was TOTALLY blown away by it.

Storyline-This details how Bruce Wayne, becomes Batman. It’s done exceptionally well. It isn’t told as some linear story. It has Bruce dreaming of old, trying to figure out what he is afraid of in order to become fear as Batman.

Cast:

Christian Bale-Batman/bruce Wayne- The BEST Batman EVER. No joke. He IS Batman. His actions, his speech, everything. Not only that, but he is an excellent Bruce Wayne. We see him grow and become The Dark Knight, the reasons why,and how he was trained.

Liam Neeson-Bruce’s fighting mentor-Really good on screen presence. His fight scenes are good, wouldn’t expect anything less from him.

Morgan freeman-Token black man/Lucious Fox-He is actually the token black man of the movie, and you know, he’s fantastic. This guy dishes out all the gadgetry that Bruce needs to be Batman, including the bat mobile.

Michael Caine-Alfred-He’s great as Alfred, Bruce’s butler and friend. Helps shape Bruce into batman.

Special Effects-Top class and not over used. the bat CGI is good, as is the explosions etc.

Stunts- Bale did alot of his own stunts and he sure got a punding from it, cos they were really good. The car chase is in there also, which is top class.

Overall- Best batflick ever. Bale tops the chart. This is defo worth a trip to the cinema, and one to own on DVD when it comes out.

Cheezy :)
