Chicken pox

March 27th, 2007

That’s right folks, Cheezy here has managed to get chicken pox, and i can tell you, it sucks! I managed to avoid it as a child and having it now is not nice atall. Not only is it bad having the symptoms of chicken pox, blotches, being itchy, not being able to wander out the door in case I infect everyone around me:P But it also means that I can’t go to uni(which usually would be a good thing, lol) I can’t go to work(so no cash) and i can’t go on the camp i was meant to go on next week now, which makes me feel bad!

Cheezy:(

Wow……just….wow!

Ok, as most of you know, i’m a HUGE Transformers fan, and with good reason, what more do we want more than huge robots that transform into cars, planes, boats, planets and other cool stuff. Well, now that question is answered!! For the release of the new film they have taken one of the most memorable childhood toys, Mr Potato head and mixed him with the most heroic Autobot ever, Optimus Prime, making……..”Optimash Prime”

Optimash Prime

How cool is that?!

Back from the dead?

February 23rd, 2007

Yes,its come to that quarter of the year when i write a post:P I will do the usual wee roundup that i do,and then later this week, give my thoughts on on some stuff…..well i say that, whether i do it or not is another matter

Lent has indeed come again, and to be honest, i usually don’t do anything for it. Never really seen a point in it, but i’ve decided that this year, i’ll go with it. I’ve given up my PSP and PS2, as i was wasting far too much time on them(i’ll still use my PSP for music) but it means i’ll have more time to actually do the stuff i need to!

I have just started a new job! Yes, i got bored of being a layabout(yeah right) and decided to get one. Again, i am a bar man, thought i’d give it another go, even though i HATED working in the GU(it sucks, managers are awful, place smells and wasn’t very nice) but i now work in the great place that is ‘Club Tropicana’. It is NOTHING to do with Wham or anything like that, it is not a gay bar either(both things i have been asked) It is a club on Hope Street and it is as Cheesy as….well….possible. Which is why i’m working there:P The managers are ace, really laid back, the rest of the crew are really nice, already having come good banter, so i’m really looking forward to the first night it’s open(tonight, yay)

Well, that’s me for just now

Casino Royale

November 27th, 2006

Went with Al, MrBen, Pedro and Gordie to see this the other night, and was blown away!! Daniel Craig has done an amazing job of being the guy we all know and love, but not quite.

For those of you who don’t know, this isn’t a Bond continuation, more a restart. This is how Bond BECAME the guy we all know and love, and what a great idea it was.

The basic storyline is that Bond is just promoted to double o status, meaning he gets more dangerous missions. It goes from chasing a parquor expert, then he has to play a huge poker game for some reason, and it’s ALL good. This time round, there’s no Moneypenny, no Q, but what makes up for that is Eva Green(as the bond girl) and some really good action minus gadgets, which is nice to see, it’s nice to see Bond being proper hard, and getting into some proper fights and kicking ass, though he does take some amount of abuse too.

Bond type stuff

What does remain intact is the Bond girls. Eva Green (Kingdom of Heaven) plays a fellow MI6 agent, well, accountant, who funds Bind in his poker game. The chemistry between them is really good, so much tension in there, and its good to see that Bond girls have more in them than just to have sex with Bond, yes, i said it:P.

What’s also nice to see is that a Bond baddie has a disfigurement like the baddie of old, like Blofeld and Jaws. This guy has a weird eye and occasionally weeps blood.

The quips are still there, but they are a bit funnier. Funnier than the controversial Brosnan saying of “I thought christmas only came once a year”. They’re both not as crude and much funnier.

Conclusion

I’ll be the first to hold my hand up and say at first i was disappointed that Brosnan was shunned, I liked him as Bond, he had the charm and stuff like that, and could pull off action sequences, and Craig, well, he had blond hair, what was that all about? But what he has done is bring back a younger, harder, rawer Bond, who doesn’t know everything and sometimes gets it wrong, but kicks ass anyway. If you haven’t saw it, go see it.

Oh and guys, you will feel SO SO sorry for Bond at one point, you will know what i’m talking about when you see it.
Cheezy :P

Thought i’d update for once

November 21st, 2006

Yeah, its true, this is the real Cheezy and i AM actually posting. It’s a new idea i know, but we’ll see how it goes :P
Alot has happened since the last time i posted. Heres just some of it:

Uni: I really like uni, its going really well. Not quite what i expected, alot about policies and politics and more writing than i like, but it’ll be worth it in 3 or 4 years time. Was also made class rep, so i have the power!haha, silly idea to make me class rep as im so disorganised.

Alpha: I’ve been going to the alpha course every thursday night, and its been grand! Best one ive been too, really good talks, and a really good laugh, especially at the number one table(we are actually table one) with me, doug, kayleigh, gillian, laura and debbie, what a team. Last week, doug made paper aeroplanes out of the paper table cloths, was quite a sight, we had great fun!! The alpha day away was also top, after getting lost, we made it there 30 min late. The day itself was amazing. Lots of stuff happened, some people were really touched by God and it was SO good to see!!!

They’re really the 2 main things thats been going on in my life at the moment, so all is good. Currently doing this instead of writing an essay about homogeneity in communities. Exciting stuff, i know.

Cheezy:)

New stuff

September 21st, 2006

It seems that in the last few weeks, loads of enw stuff has happened to cheezy.

I’ve started a new job, i’ve started a new uni, and i’ve bought (far to much) new stuff.

My new job is as a barman in the Glasgow University student union(GUU). Its quite good, but cos of freshers week, ive been working 8-3 most nights, which is well harsh, but when the cash rolls in in 3 weeks time im sure ill appreciate it!The rest of the staff are grand, and the many drunken students are a good laugh aswell, altho, some too drunken(if there is such a thing):P

My new uni is strathclyde, where im doing community education, it seems like itll be really good, theyve been taking us through the course this week and telling us all the stuff we’ll need to know so that its easier when we start properly. Theres a huge variety of ages in the class, from 18 to like 40-50, which will make things interesting. I’m also one of only like 6 guys in the class of 47,which is weird, cos at college, there was only 1 girl in the class,so will take a bit of getting used to.

New stuff, ive got quite a bit. First off, i bought 3 U2 tour DVDs from amazon, got them for really cheap, like 5-10 quid each. Theyve been really good,im a HUGE fan of Edge and co so been good to see them(cos lets face it,i dont have £100 to but a ticket for them when theyre on tour).

Transformers season 2: This has got to be one of my best buys EVER!!! Loved living old memories watching Prime in his prime kicking some ass, twas a great sight. Havent watched any of the extras yet, but have watched all 59 episodes, also got this cheap off amazon, man, what a place!

New MP3 Player: For those of you who know of my old one, aka “the brick”, it died. It was a 40GB and it will still hold data, but not play music,so it had to get replaced. So it had to get replaced, and it did, by this lovely thing. It’s an 8GB creative zen photo micro, so it hold music and photos aswell as your ordinary data. It very swish, very easy to use compared to my old one and at least half the physical size.

Things on the list to buy: Need to buy my 3 uni books on sociology, community education, and another one that no one can remember. On a higher priority is Transformers seasons 3 and 4(again, quite cheap on amazon). i’m also sure ill find other stuff to buy.

Soundtrack to your life

April 16th, 2006

Ok, a while back on Guy’s site, you had the movie of your life, now what you need to do is put a soundtrack to it.

There are gonna be 6 parts of you life your gonna hve to cover, so 6 different songs, the parts will be:

1. You being born, montage of you growing up(start of movie, opening titles)
2. You fall in love with a girl or guy(typical movie storyline)
3. The obligatory fight scene(you know the drill)
4. You “win” the girl/guy you love and live happily ever after
5. You die, montage of your life after you lived happily ever after(closing credits)

I guess that i need to start, so here goes:

1: Bitter sweet symphony by The Verve
2: Everything I do(I do for you) by Bryan Adams*
3: Breathe by The Prodigy
4: Beautiful Day by U2
5: Who wants to live forever by Queen

*Hey, they don’t call me Cheezy for nothing

Hope that all makes sense. Look forward to seeing the answers.

Long time

April 7th, 2006

Thankfully, Cheezy has been off this week, and what has he done with it?…..Nothing, absolutely nothing. Yeah, i’ve been out and about at night, but during the day i’ve sat and watched tv, played the ps2 and just pottered away. It is actually quite nice, because I have been quite busy of late.

Last week, I was helping looking after some foreign students from France and Finland. It was a good laugh actually, done loads of great stuff. Took them to Stirling(just in time for everything closing), the IMAX cinema, Edinburgh Castle and Dungeons(which is fantastic and would recommend everyone should go to it, so funny and very well acted). Sadly, there was some work to be done, including work on the website, and on the friday, as spokesperson for the group, I had to do a presentation. I LOVE doing presentations, don’t know why, I just do, and cos of that, im pretty good at them. I turned a 3-5 minute presentation into nearly a 15 minute one, and done myself proud.

They did have to go home though sadly, and it was hard to say goodbye as we’d all got quite close. I do have an open invitation to go to France though, score!

Also saw Firewall the other day, and it’s good. You can’t really beat Harrison Ford. He plays a server security chief in a bank, and his family is held hostage until he gets them money. On comes some cliched attempts to save them and stuff, but the action is good and was quite impressed.

Big Post…maybe

March 13th, 2006

Ok,its been a while,ive been told to post,so i will

First off, my fave link that i’ve found in a long time- I-God

Its your chance to have a direct line talking to God. Think minimalistic MSN,but to God. You want to chat to him? Go Here

Ok, maybe it isnt actually God, but an AI(Artifitual Intelligence) that pretends to be God and answers your questions and comments, but you know, maybe it will solve lifes problems and tell you how to live your life…or maybe it wont, dont ask me,i just work here.

Saw “The Weatherman” on Friday, and its crap, lol. Sorry, but I got so bored through this “comedy”. The funniest parts were shown in the trailer, and thats always disappointing. I am a fan of Nicholas Cage, and he has made ome fantastic movies in his day(Face Off, The Rock,Gone in 60 Seconds) but this movie cant even be saved by Michael Cane, who plays nic cages dad. The story is that nick cage is a tv weatherman, and is applying for a job in new york to be a mega paid weatherman, he has an ex wife and 2 kids, and his father is dying, his sons councellor is a paedophile, and his daughters nickname is camel toe(im not explaining that one to you innocent readers) It might be a more girly movie, as something called “feelings” are needed i believe:P

Snow….isnt it great?! Ive always loved snow, and i hope i always will love it. Theres just so much you can do with it. Build snowmen, throw snowballs, bury people in it,build a ramp to sledge down, its so good. Me,alan, james, gillian, katie, dave, steve, aline and helen built an 8 foot snowman yesterday, it was quite impressive, was quite heavy, but looked great. Although, the acheivment of the day was the 5 foot ramp we built to make the sledging better, as there wasnt really a steep enough hill. There wearnt any serious injuries, but lots of extrmely funny moments, such as gillian being dropped over a fence, through some leaves,so that the snow from the leaves landed on her as she hit the ground, and she then couldnt figure out how to get out,but i helped, being the kind person that i am,haha. Alan and Ben do deserve medals or something for doing it.

Ok,time for a wee rant.

Space, the final frontier, in alot of the world governments, it seems a good idea to send people and probes and sattelites into space in order to “make things better for the world”, thats complete rubbish, and they know it. What would be better for the world, would be to give even 1/4 of what they spend on a space craft to the African nations, thus solving world hunger i one swift move. Think, Ameica spends a whole load of cash on space exploration, then turn round and say “yh,wordl hunger sucks, if only there was a way of solving it…….oh look, have you seen our new 65 million dollar space program?” It sucks! It really does. Now, in all honesty, i dont give money to charity at the moment, i dont even tithe yet(but im working on it). Now, when I grow up(if it ever happens) and i get a proper full time, well paid job, yh,ill give some cash to the needy, we’re all equal, why should it be that people in “lesser” countries be less fortunate than i am? They shouldnt!

Just had to get it out my system.

Had a university interview 2 weeks ago…except i was ill and couldnt go,so phoned and cancelled, and was SO worried i wouldnt get another one, but theyve sent me one for the 29th March, so im actually so excited about it, i love interviews, dont know why,but i just do. I dont get nervous about them and just get o and do what needs done. This one is fro strathclyde which is my first choice, had one for edinburgh a month ago, and still aint heard, but dunno if i want to go there anyway. Lets face it, edinburgh = sucky, crappy and…erm…other not nice words. well,in my opinion anyway.

Well, i think thats enough for today.
